Tamarisk is a network of church planters in Japan who learn, encourage, and chase this vision together.

Tamarisk Mission statement

We equip and mentor emerging Japanese church leaders to build thriving, disciple-making churches that will spark a sustainable church planting movement. 

Our vision

Empower and connect Japanese pastors and church planters with constant coaching, to help them lead multiplying churches that will saturate their region and beyond with the Gospel, and to help release them to start coaching other leaders in their regions.

Our Story

We met at Kobe Bible Fellowship (KBF) in 1998, where we were both actively involved in ministry. After getting married, we continued to serve together at KBF, leading the singles ministry and participating in the worship team.

In November 2004, we were sent out from KBF and, together with ten dear friends, planted Nishinomiya Crossroad Church. Since then, God has faithfully guided us as we have continued to serve and grow in His calling.

In January 2025, we launched the Tamarisk Church Planters Network Japan to further support and coach young pastors and new church planters across Japan. What began as a personal effort to encourage others has now grown into a network where leaders can learn together, encourage one another, and multiply churches that bring the Gospel to every corner of Japan and beyond.
